I was born with open hands
Why should I ever close them?
Let rain and snow fall
my hands will remain uncovered
absorbing only
that which will make them stronger
I was born with open hands
Why should I ever cover them?
The cold cannot touch me
for my hands are burning
with God’s infinite Love
Hands and heart wide open! That is you! Great to see you got internet for a moment…This poem is beautiful!
Heart to heart Robyn
Your hands are born open…really!
🙂 🙂 🙂
You are welcome
“As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and one for helping others.” – Audrey Hepburn
🙂 yes 🙂 It took me some time to learn that I had that hand to help myself 🙂 Thank you for the quote 🙂
Understood. I spent all my time doing for others… I was a slow learner. 😉
🙂 I know what you mean 🙂
I love the image of open hands. ❤
🙂 That was inspired from the quote 🙂 I love it too! 🙂 ❤
I always think about how holding lightly and letting go looks the same. I hold that image a lot. ❤
Yes, like holding a bird in your hand, yet not quite holding it, just letting it sit there until it is ready to fly away 🙂
Uh huh. 🙂
🙂
Lovely… Just perfect… Much love…
Thank you so very very much!! 🙂 Lots of Love to you! ❤
I love the Little Princess quote! One of my favorite childhood books that perhaps I need to revisit since I don’t remember that quote ~ I love your poem which was inspired by it as well Line. Truly beautiful, just like you and your sweet soul. ♥
Yes, I really think you should re-read that book! 🙂 There is one part for children to enjoy, but there is also a part that you will understand better as an adult, I think 🙂 I have read that book at least 3-4 times and I find something new every time I read it! 🙂 Lots and lots of Love and Joy to you lovely Yvonne!! 🙂 ❤
Thank you Line! I will go find my childhood copy! xo

Very beautiful, lovely words
Thank you so very much! 🙂 I love that quote!! 🙂
this poem made me think of the position of the hands during mediation- so open to receive.
Yes, like when you are trying to give someone healing, first you open your hands to God, then you give what is in your hands to someone else 🙂 ❤
A quote from one of my favorite books of all time, and a delightful poem by Line, accompanied by so many gorgeous photos, wow!! What a knock-out post! Love it!! Hugs, Brenda

Thank you for this sweet poem. Very inspiring. I feel the same way.
Why can’t we be givers without feeling guilt or doubts?
Yes, we can. Our hands were born to be open.
Yes!! And I also think that when we are born givers we should be allowed to give, and give and give! I mean, so many people I know don’t like when I give, beacuse they think they have to give something back and that stresses them out! No matter how many times I say that I give to give and not to get, they seem to not understand, so many have told me to stop giving so much 😦 That makes me sad 😦
We have so much in common.
I find myself in the same kind of situation!
That was lovely 🙂
Oh, yaaaay! 🙂 You really think so? 🙂 Thank you so much!! 🙂
Yes, I do 🙂
Thank you! 🙂 🙂 🙂
