A life without oceans…

Behind his fear, I began to see
A thin overspill of thoughts
Blunted with rage and effort.
A face branded with black sunshine.
And the shameless cries of birds
Tattooed across the milky coastlines
Of his colorless eyes.
He was a life without oceans,
A sky with a mistrust of stars,
And I was a night hiding in his broken smile
Luring shadows into pitchless gutters
Muddied with pointless sacrifice.

  1. Great poem. I just got Dealing with Dragons, picked it up today, but, unfortunately the artwork isn’t beautiful like the artwork in your post. This one is very cartoonish. I didn’t realize it was a series. I’ll let you know when I read it:) Thanks again.
