The Beauty of this World

img_4546

The beauty of this world
Does not lie in the eyes
Of the beholder, it does not need
Your approval nor your love,
It exists entirely on its own.

The beauty of this world
does not need a savior,
Nor a soldier,
It is your caretaker, your
Preserver, your knight.

The beauty of this world
Is not given like a child,
Unconditionally and innocent,
It will, with sovereign superiority,
Expel its entire litter into solitary
Extinction in a game of survival.

The beauty of this world
Is not kind nor boastful
It gives unselfishly, conditionally
And punishes mercilessly.

The beauty of this world
Is not given to you nor me
To delight in, it is you, it is we
Who are the gift and the slaves of
This world’s irrevocable beauty.

  1. Beautiful words, Trini! And oh so true. Any time you feel inspired by one of my paintings, feel free to create a poem. It would be fun to “collaborate.” (I think that is the word I want?) πŸ™‚ I so enjoy reading your posts.

  2. Very beautiful, those things that we see…and in truth it is not until we go through them and see the opposing truth, that its true beauty is shone.
Lovely writing Trini, thank you for sharing the discovery of your truth πŸ™‚

  3. * Verdade… A natureza existe por si sΓ³ e nΓ£o precisa de nΓ³s. NΓ³s sim precisamos dela. Linda poesia!
    * True … Nature exists by itself and does not need us. We do need it. Nice poetry
