Your Heart is like mine

Your heart is like mine
Nailed fast to Heaven.
It is this solitude
That unites us.
I might be someone’s
Feeling the tug
Of the nail
As I touch their

The road to Heaven

The road to Heaven is
The old country road
I walked every day as a little girl.
The dandelions, the weeds,
the dragonflies.
Morning light through
Kitchen windows.
A secret triumph and a song
Through silvered forest.
Two sets of rubber boots
Wading through feather-light
New snow.
And I follow obediently
The course of the autumn
Without even asking
Who is calling me up there,
Perhaps it is just granny
Telling me that the pancakes
Are ready.

Love’s Alchemy

2016-03-22 10.07.47

Sometimes, a love’s painful birth,
From a weary soul’s victory,
Over a life, whose shadows fling,
To murder a loss that wounds and stings.
Though, they may yield with the taste of tears,
A sorrow tucked
Behind the thistles of layered years.
For this,
He has forgone the shrine of youth,
to chisel grace
From the toiling labor
Of mining truth.
For only the wild will dare
To tempt the cruel decay
Of man’s cathedral mind,
And lift upon his beaten back
The sweet legacy of resurrection divine
And bend his worn-out quivering knee
To be knighted by Love’s sacramental

In the hills of a distant dream

When the transparency
of the moon
closes the distance
between us
and the mist
lifts its veil
to reveal snow
on sunless peaks
that is when
you and I
will meet
in the hills
of a distant dream
we will fill
the night sky
with our memories
